Best RV Park and Campground

Tall Pines RV Park

6510 West 70th Street

Shreveport, Louisiana 71129

This was the best RV Park we stayed at between Fort Worth to New York to Key West  and back to Fort Worth. Very dog friendly! Two large enclosed dog runs (one for large dogs and one for small dogs) plus different obstacles that dogs can learn to navigate. For those people that travel with dogs...this was a great feature that we appreciated more than the beautiful pool close to the office. (Just behind that giant hedge above,)

Also very close to Interstate 20.

I agree! If your planning an itinerary through Shreveport I suggest you plan to spend more than one day at Tall Pines,

  Our Rig

In Jan 2009  we traded in our 33' Rockford  travel trailer, faithful as she was, making a 10,887 mile journey from Fort Worth, Texas to Fairbanks, Alaska and back without even a whimper  the whole way.

We found a like new (1480 miles), 30 foot Damon Daybreak motor home with 2 slide outs and the 10 cyl Ford Triton engine. The model year is 2007. We are very anxious to get out on the road and find out  just how she does.

Except a short, overnight trip just down the road from Fort Worth to have supper with a high school classmate from some 50 years ago, the trip to Kemah will be the first real trip we will have made in our new motor home.

Linda was hoping that we could get one that was just as long or longer than the travel trailer we had (33') but I was really happy with the price and condition of the Damon. Plus it had a sattelite dish already installed.

We took Key and Juliet (Black Lab and a Whippett) out for a ride in it and the first thing Key did was to stake out his place on the dash. (I think he saw some dogs doing that on our trip to Alaska and thought that would be pretty neat)  I told him he would have to find another spot. So he took my seat.
